agile strategy development, design, & execution.

Let’s start by saying that I originally wanted to use an image like the one to our right —>project manager square as this page’s featured image. Because, alas, I know how you feel! You just wanted a drink of water. A simple idea you thought, but now you’ve got a to-do list up to your ears and you feel like you are drowning. Pause. Lift your head. Breath! You need someone with project management experience. (Que cheesy superhero intro music)

That “someone”, could be me! You name it – I’ve helped make it happen! Just look at the other featured pages on this site! From events, film projects, classroom curriculum, launches, photo shoot styling, to booking talent, helping you build clients, finding rental space, launching your first app, finding an audience, and even filing that stack of receipts you’ve been scared to look at for weeks. YES, I can help you do all of the things!

Project management can mean many things. Its part admin, part planning, part budget bad-ass. According to PMIProject management, is “the application of knowledge, skills and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently. It’s a strategic competency for organizations, enabling them to tie project results to business goals — and thus, better compete in their markets.”

Project management processes fall into five groups:Iterative_development_model.svg

  • Initiating
  • Planning
  • Executing
  • Monitoring and Controlling
  • Closing

My preferred method, is less linear, and more — ready for buzzwords? “Agile”. While this practice is often associated with the tech world, and software development, it’s a lot more real world cyclical and adaptable. Therefore, I tend to like to adopt its basic principles for most projects. At least I’m trying to. I’m no SCRUM Master yet. I’ll let you know how I’ve adapted after my next sprint retrospective.

I DO speak decent coder jargon as well. I’d say it’s about sophomore year B+ in Spanish status. I’ve worked with Python developers building in Djengo, as well as WordPress wizards conjuring pages for independent artists and solopreneurs. I don’t personally code (yet), and I can’t build out your backend or UI/UX design…but I can speak about those things without sounding like a 12-year-old (Your back-end is bigger than my back-end!…okay maybe not), and updating WordPress or other content in your preferred CMS is definitely in my realm of capability.

I am currently enrolled in project management certification classes and planning on becoming PMP certified through PMI in the near future, if you know, you LOVE standardized tests, that fact might float your boat. 🙂
